Celebrating community at the 2025 Kaitaia Run/Walk

August 25, 2025

Celebrating community at the 2025 Kaitaia Run/Walk

On Saturday, August 9, Te Hiku Forest once again came alive with the sound of footsteps, laughter, and encouragement as over 500 people took part in the annual Summit Forests Kaitaia Run/Walk, which we are the proud headline sponsor of.

This year marked the fourth time the event has been hosted in Te Hiku Forest, offering participants three distances to choose from: 4km, 11km, and 21km. Whether walking, running or cheering from the sidelines, the atmosphere was buzzing with community spirit and energy.

Families, seasoned athletes, and first-time participants all came together to enjoy a day of connection and achievement in the beautiful Te Hiku Forest.

A massive thank you goes to the Sport Northland team for running this event in the forest. Special recognition also goes to the Kaitaia 4×4 group, who manned each drink station, and to all the invaluable volunteers whose mahi was key to making this event a success.

Events like the Summit Forests Kaitaia Run/Walk remind us why community partnerships matter. At Summit Forests, we’re proud to not only care for the land but also to open it up for people to enjoy in meaningful and memorable ways.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this year: runners, walkers, volunteers, and supporters. Your energy and spirit make this event the highlight it has become.

Mark your calendars for next year’s event now – you won’t want to miss the 2026 Kaitaia Run/Walk!
